  • Novena for Catholic Education

    Our original apostolate project, these nine days of prayer for Catholic Education are held as students are returning to campus following summer break -- beginning on the vigil Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord (August 8) through the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15), Feast of the Assumption is celebrated on 15 August for

  • Twelve Days of Christmas

    Celebrate the Twelve Days of Christmas with these daily mediations on the Birth of the Messiah in light of the Twelve Fruits of the Holy Spriit.

  • Easter and Christmas Message

    We're pleased to be able to prepare, each year, videos of Father John Raphael's annual Christmas and Easter message. These are intended for the entire Notre Dame community and distributed to those on our mailing list with the invitation to share them as an appropriate introduction to our mission.

  • Ember Days

    Join us for three days of fasting and prayer during Embertide to "prepare the way for deeper contents," as Saint John Paul II taught about fasting, and to pray especially for the four major stakeholder groups of the University of Notre Dame who share in the responsibility of upholding our beloved university's Catholic heritage. During Embertide beginning on the Wednesday after St. Lucy's Feast, we pray for alumni; during that beginning on the Wednesday after Ash Wednesday, we prayer for students; after Whitsun, we pray for administrators; and, after the Exaltation of the Cross, we pray for faculty.

    Any member of the Sycamore Trust community may submit their prayer intentions online to be included in a monthly Mass offered by Father John Raphael (’89) for Sycamore Trustees and their families, the members of our apostolate, and our benefactors.

A Prayer for Notre Dame

Eternal God, Creator and Sustainer of All Life, we beseech You to pour forth Your blessing on our beloved Notre Dame that she may be of special service to Your Church. Lead those entrusted with her mission by Your Divine Light. Help those who have benefited from her mission to be fully committed to supporting and defending it. Inspire the men and women of Sycamore Trust and the entire Notre Dame family with the words of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, to give the “uncompromising witness of Catholic Universities to the Church’s moral teaching, and the defense of her freedom…especially in the face of efforts, from whatever quarter, to dilute that indispensable witness.“ We make our prayer through the intercession of Mary, Notre Dame, Our Mother, and in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen
